Table of Contents
Something pretty
Give her something bright and colorful in her favorite colors; it will go perfectly with all those new spring outfits she can start wearing now that winter is over. A scarf or nice earrings (pairs of matching earrings) should do it–or even better, take note if she’s been looking at specific jewelry lately, either online or in person. And don’t forget flowers to match!
Flowers are always a good choice too, especially because they look so good on display in your home once they’re done blooming. Bonus points if you make them yourself!
Books
Books are great gifts for any occasion, but 50th birthdays are especially great because there’s a good chance she might not have read some of these books yet! Looking for something specific? Try one of these (you can click on each title to learn more): 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James; The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Decorating Your Home by Marry Ann Young.
Tickets
Give her tickets to a movie premiere or theater performance happening in her city, or book an exciting vacation package if you want to send her away from it all!
A meal out
It’s easy to think of ideas when you’re trying to find gifts for moms–not so much when you’re looking for presents for your aunt. Don’t worry about coming up with something creative; just take her out somewhere she wants to go. If she loves fancy restaurants, check out those reviews online (and make sure they accept reservations) before suggesting anything.
Even better? Ask her friends who work at or own local businesses what their favorite places are; most people will be more than happy to share tips on where to eat nearby.
Gardening kit
Are there any special plants she always wanted but never got around to growing? Perhaps some flowers that grew bigger than her house last year would look great inside now that there’s some extra space?
Maybe even some seeds she always meant to plant but never did? Well, if you don’t know what kind of present to get her, try starting with a gardening kit from Amazon!
Plants
A new houseplant is an excellent choice for your 50th birthday or anniversary; not only are they pretty and easy to care for, but they also make excellent gifts when paired with matching pottery or kitchen towels.
If you want something a little different, get her unique indoor plants that won’t die on you after a few weeks (meaning you can save yourself some money).
Candles/incense
Does she like candles? Try getting her one in her favorite scent(s) as a nice treat. If she loves incense instead of candles (or if you’re on a budget), try getting her some scented sticks that smell just as good without setting things on fire.
