When you think of gifts, grandpas don’t exactly come to mind—even though they deserve a little spoiling every now and then. And while every grandpa is different, there are certain commonalities among them: They might like their beer cold but not too fizzy, their sports teams must win, and all of them want to kick back with some nice scotch after a long day at work. Here are 9 gift ideas that should be in any good grandpa’s stocking

Table of Contents
1) Any kind of hat
We can’t tell you how many times we see grandpas wearing really cute hats. At least once a week, we see one on someone who looks effortlessly cool—and wishes they were our grandpa.
2) Home improvement toolset
Grandpas love building things. Whether it’s fixing stuff around your house or around other people’s houses, he wants to have tools handy so he can do it himself.
3) Tool bag
This only makes sense if he doesn’t already have one. (If his tool bag looks more like a black hole than something that can hold tools, go with another gift idea.)
4) Scotch glasses
Even if your grandpa isn’t much of a drinker, these glasses still make awesome decorations because they make everything look classy.
5) A place to put those glasses
If you’re going to buy him engraved glasses, they need somewhere beautiful and decorative to sit when they aren’t being used. A brand-new decanter would also be wonderful!
6) Ice fishing gear
Because what grandpa doesn’t like living off the land?
7) Cigars
Again, if he enjoys smoking cigars now and again.
8) Baseball tickets
There are plenty of baseball games where grandpas get to root for their team together; whether it’s a professional game or an amateur league game, tickets will be an appreciated gift.
9) Pocketknife
One thing about grandpas is that they tend to have old-fashioned habits; pocketknives fall into that category. He probably carries a pocket knife wherever he goes and uses it more often than you realize.
